Below is the “Notice to Community Regarding Sex Offender” containing information about a registered sex offender who has recently moved into 15 Buena Vista Drive in The City of Peekskill. The offender described in the Notice has been adjudged to be a “Level Three” offender on a rating scale of one to three, which means that the risk he poses to the community is deemed to be “high”.
This letter and the enclosed notice are intended to alert families and other entities having vulnerable populations about the sex offender’s presence. This is part of a community notification process aimed at protecting all persons in the community from sexual victimization.
Information about the Sex Offender Registration Act and about sex offenders is available via the internet at www.criminaljustice.state.ny.us. You may also obtain such information by calling a special telephone hotline maintained by the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services Sex Offender Registry at (800) 262-3257. In addition, the City of Peekskill Police Department maintains a record of designated sex offenders who reside in the City of Peekskill, which can be viewed Monday through Friday between 9AM and 3PM.
I would also suggest that because this registry is regularly updated, you routinely monitor it for any changes. In addition, feel free to disseminate this information as you deem to be appropriate, however, all entities receiving this notification are advised that no one may use this information to injure, harass, or commit a criminal act against any person.
