Queens Spa Worker Charged with Prostitution in Putnam Valley

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office arrested Wen Ying Zou, 59, of Flushing,

A 59-year-old Queens woman face prostitution charges after she allegedly offered sexual services to undercover officer at Putnam Valley massage parlor earlier this month.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office arrested Wen Ying Zou, 59, of Flushing, Tuesday and charged her with prostitution, a class B misdemeanor and unauthorized Practice of a Profession, a class E felony in violation of the state education law.

 At about 8 p.m., an undercover officer went to the Bei Jing Spa, located at Bryant Pond Road in Putnam Valley, and was directed to a small room where he and the Zou negotiated a price for a massage and a sexual act.  At that time, other members of the Sheriff’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit entered the business and arrested Zou.

Officers from the Sheriff’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit began their investigation after they developed information that the sexual acts were being provided in the spa. Investigators conducted a surveillance of the premises to gather additional intelligence, before making the arrest.

Deputies seized the business’ daily cash receipts, as well as business records reflecting the daily activities conducted at the spa.

Zou was arraigned and released without bail to reappear in Putnam Valley court.
