A 61-year-old Peekskill woman accused of selling heroin to an undercover officer is facing felony charges, officials said.
Peekskill Police detectives Anthony Malfitano and Joe McGann arrested Renee Romano when they spotted her on the 1,000 block of Park Street at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Officials say she sold heroin to an undercover cop several times during the spring of 2013.
"Ms. Romano’s arrest was the culmination of a joint investigation conducted by the Peekskill Police Department’s and Westchester County Police Department’s narcotics units," authorities said in a statement.
Police charged Romano with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, felonies. She was sent to Westchester County Jail pending a future court appearance.
