Police Search for 2 Suspects in Armed Robbery at Montrose Gas Station

The BP Mart on Albany Post Road was robbed today, just before 1 a.m., according to state police investigators.

State police are searching for two men who committed an armed robbery at the BP Mart on 2030 Albany Post Road in Montrose today, shortly before  1 a.m.

The robbery took place at about 12:49 a.m when two men entered the store and pistol whipped the store clerk several times with a handgun, according to investigators. The suspects then took an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene.

The men were last seen running north, toward Maiden Lane.

The store clerk was treated at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center for injuries to his head and face. He was later released from the hospital.

Police described the suspects as two black men. One of the men wore a dark-colored, bubble winter type jacket with blue jeans and sneakers. The other suspect wore a dark-colored, hoodie type jacket with blue jeans and sneakers.

The robbers used hoods and ski masks to their faces, according to police. Police ask anyone with information to call them at  914-737-7171.  All calls will be kept confidential.

Bet you a week's salary these two miscreants are not on the JN's published list of legal pistol permit holders.
Hope the store clerk recovers quickly.

THINGS SEEM TO BE GETTING WORSE INSTEAD OF BETTER. IT SEEMS NO MATTER WHAT STATE OR CITY YOUR IN, CRIME IS ON THE RISE. IT IS SO SAD THAT YOUR NOT EVEN SAFE IN YOUR OWN HOME.

The Entertainer December 28, 2012 at 03:32 pm

Collegenurse December 28, 2012 at 04:07 pm
entertainer seriously???? lets see get pistal whipped for what??? wow what would your basis be for that comment?
The Entertainer December 28, 2012 at 04:45 pm
I find it hard to believe 2 individuals would do a crime like that and take off on foot.....that's all seems fishy
sayitsnotsojack December 28, 2012 at 05:59 pm
Geraldo Rivera was lambasted for suggesting that a hoodie was as culpable in the Martin death as the shooter, sorry folks but a black man wearing a hoodie and participating in an armed robbery does nothing but fan the fires of misunderstanding fueled by ignorance, bravado, misinformation, history, and even popular culture.
Collegenurse December 28, 2012 at 06:54 pm
Sayitsnotsojack and your point is?? No code please.
sayitsnotsojack December 28, 2012 at 07:29 pm
My point which you have missed while nursing is that thanks to these two bums, the next time a couple of black guys wearing hoodies which has become a symbol of someone being a threat do not be surprised if the convenience store clerk does not become uneasy even though there is not reason to be so.
Rubio4u December 28, 2012 at 07:49 pm
Agreed, and that garbage was written by a reporter that has a NYC pistol permit..... Now that guy is not just a hypocrite he is what I call a "new kind of stupid"
Beach Girl December 28, 2012 at 07:51 pm
fyi Its not in Peekskill .... IT DOESNT MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SO JERK THAT WILL Rob . It takes place in Mahopac , Yorktown Mt. kisco .... .
Collegenurse December 28, 2012 at 07:57 pm
Wow really now who has the biased paranoid profiling attitude? How would anyone any color or ethnicity react after being attacked at 1 in the morning? Sorry but once and for all if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck its most likely a duck.
This is a world gone mad and everyone needs to be alert and some what suspicious and cautious it just might save a life. Nursing is my profession i think given your comments your the one still nursing.

Just a very sad, and yes, unfortunately more common crime that is echoed throughout all communities; most certainly this robbery is a sign of the times and a preview of the worse that is to come. Can't say I believe, in any way, that this crime was "inside" in any way. More likely, this new esablishment owned by the same owner of the mobils (rt.6 lake mohegan / rt. 202 ? Yorktown...just b4 Taconic Pkwy ent.) was cased by these two men for their planned robbery after the two noticed the existence of the new BP. This makes me believe the two (or at least one) are/is local enough to know the place was new and was comfortable enough with the neighborhood to flee on foot. Many changes are being made at all of this above mentioned owners' businesses to increase the security measures, significantly decrease police response time, and actually leave the decision in the hands of the employee as to whether or not the approaching person will or will not be allowed to enter via a perpetually locked door system that requires employee "buzzing" in each customer. With all that said and fact, no, despite any "fishy" feelings, this was not an inside job. Hoping and praying for GODspeed healing of the "pistol whipped" employee. Side note: didn't know the "tool" that wrote/published the "list" in the JN had a pistol permit in NYC!!! Thank you for this info .... hypocritical "tool"! Lastly, got a chuckle outta the "ban hoodies" comment ...
Shar December 30, 2012 at 02:50 pm
Thanks ED...It also might be a good idea to ban subway trains in NYC as there have quite a few subway train killings as of late

Shar ... you are killing me today with jokes!! Lol! In all seriousness, sadly again, this very poorly informed woman allegedly hates all hindus because they "blew up 9/11"...yeah, I know ... someone tell this psycho that #1. Terrorists were of the islamic faith, not hindu, and 2. Regardless!! Even if this nut was better informed, it doesn't justify shoving someone into/under a subway! SMH! Now, if he was wearing a hoodie ....

@ASHLEY TARR my comments that i posted did not contain profanity nor did they harrass or abuseRead More anyone, they were just what the forum is for, to discuss issues within our city. but i know, some people would consider it harrasment or would try to have it deleted because the truth hurts, and that's what some of our elected officials don't want you to hear, (the truth)

By the way, in our new system we have an update that includes a community moderation tool—it'sRead More not only Patch editors who can flag comments. What is it? Readers can flag any content they find objectionable on any Patch site at any time. We’ve put the flagging link in more places to make it easier to find and backed it with more sophisticated tools. Our goal is to recognize and reward readers who make our community great. How does it work? You’ll see these words — Flag as Inappropriate — on the top and bottom of Board posts, articles, blogs and notes, and next to every single comment anywhere on the site. To flag something, you simply click those words. What happens when you flag? It alerts us that something might be up with the content. When should you flag? We ask that you use your common sense and a general spirit of openness. You should never flag things that you simply disagree with and certainly not to clarify minor points. We encourage you to comment, post (or even start your own blog) to be heard on those things. You can review the Patch Terms of Use Ashley referred to above.

Unleashed dogs is getting to be a big problem in Peekskill. I see them routinely now. People areRead More letting their pit bulls out, their poodles, their chihuahuas - all kinds of dogs. Two days a go I watched a lady jogging on the track with her loose dog. The dog wasn't even supposed to be on the track no less loose. Some kid or elderly lady is going to get bit. Loose dogs also end up in more fights with other dogs.

Sue a sad fact that these days of “political correctness” individuals who exhibit rudeRead More and ignorant behavior are empowered by the rest of us. I know of a similar situation where the individuals will yell four letter words in the public areas with young children there, call others the foulest things, and in this case, they are black and gay so the race/gay card is used constantly. Until people make it known they are not going to tolerate their behavior it will not stop. Have you notified the property owner, complex board, and police, or maybe the board of health?

It seems Patch moves editors every year. Liz was here when I signed up. Then she was shortly movedRead More to Rye and Rasheed took over. He must have been here about a year and then he left when the new format was introduced. Both times patch started cooking and then it got cut down just as new staff got their mojo going. A new editor with a new format seems like starting from scratch again. I know AOL/Patch needs to get some cash flow going quick (from what I've read) but I can't see what they are trying to do exactly by tipping the cart over and over

Working Families Party endorsed candidate Mary Foster

Working Families Party almost always cross endorses with Democrats. Looks like the choice isRead More getting clearer: One team is Democrat, WFP and Independent and the Catalina Team is Republican, Right-to-life, Conservative. Anyway, I believe Catalina is campaigning as anti-gay rights, so I know how I will be voting.
