Police: Peekskill Man Steals 49 Bottles of Makeup

A 50-year-old Peekskill man is accused of walking out of the local Stop & Shop with 49 bottles of L'Oréal makeup, officials said.

Peekskill Police arrested the man at about 1:30 p.m. Jan. 31, after the store's security notified authorities that a subject wanted in connection with a Jan. 14 larceny had just left. Security said the man was on foot, and headed west on Main Street.

Officer Scott McDonough located the defendant at the corner of Husted Avenue and Main Street. He was detained until store security arrived and confirmed the identity. He was charged with misdemeanor petty larceny and released pending a Feb. 11 court appearance.
