A 23-year-old Peekskill man was charged with two counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class B Felony, on July 10 at 8:45 p.m. on Highland Avenue.
Police say they observed the defendant, Marquis Roberson, who had an active warrant charging him with resisting arrest, as a passenger in a vehicle on Highland Ave. Officer Basso stopped the vehicle and took Roberson into custody without incident. Det. McGann, after learning Roberson was in custody, filed additional charges against him, closing out a seven-month investigation conducted jointly between the Peekskill Police Narcotics Unit and the New York State Police. During this investigation, Roberson sold heroin to an undercover police officer on several occasions, police said. Roberson was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.
Marquiz Roberson, 22, of Peekskill was charged with false personation on May 12 at 9:30 a.m. at Dunbar Heights, police said. Peekskill police Officer James Knapp observed Roberson and suspected he was a subject with an arrest warrant for a burglary that occurred in Peekskill in Huly, 2010, Knapp reported. Roberson gave Officer Knapp a false name but he was positively identified by photograph and fingerprint evidence and subsequently charged. In addition to false personation charges, Roberson is facing burglary charges stemming from a domestic incident that occurred last July. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court....You'll see what I mean by "Slap on the wrist, slap on the wrist 3 and a half to 9?" fellas stay away from Joe's mini Market they laying in the cut for you....#straightenup
