The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrested three suspects Sunday in the theft of a gasoline card and other items from the Garrison Volunteer Ambulance Corps during the months of January and February.
Deputies arrested Eric Bohler, 20, of Cortlandt; Christopher Riecke,17, of Buchanan; and another 16-year-old Cortlandt male whose names was withheld after they allegedly stole a key to the ambulance corps offices and used it to steal property, including a gasoline credit card with which they made numerous purchases of gasoline.
The trio allegedly committed the thefts several times. Ambulance officials noticed the unauthorized credit card purchases and notified the Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 21.
The suspects were identified and arrested after an investigation by Deputy Sheriff Robert Detlefs and Sgt. Michael Szabo.
Riecke and Bohler were charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and fifth-degree conspiracy, a misdemeanor. Bohler was also charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.
The 16-year-old male, whose name is being withheld because he is eligible for youthful offender status, was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor.
The suspects were arraigned in Philipstown court.
Bohler was released on a $100 cash bail. Riecke and the 16-year-old were released on their recognizance. All three are scheduled to reappear in court at a later date.
