Police Arrest Suspect in Attempted Burglary Case

The DNA evidence was taken at the scene of the 2008 attempted burglary. The analysis was recently returned to the Yorktown police department, identifying a Peekskill man as the suspect.

have made an arrest in connection to a 2008 attempted burglary case. 

Elicer Olmo, 32 from Peekskill, is accused of attempting to break into in Yorktown, police said. He was charged with third-degree attempted burglary, a felony.

Investigation began when the auto body shop owner reported to police on Aug. 8, 2008, that someone had attempted to break into the business. Police recovered DNA evidence at the scene and submitted it to the Westchester County Lab for analysis.

The DNA analysis, which was recently returned to the Yorktown police department, has identified Olmo as the suspect.

Olmo was arrested last week, processed and released on $250 bail. The defendant was scheduled to return to on May 22.
