The Putnam County Sheriff’s reports that five men received numerous injuries Friday after a brawl between two rival motorcycle clubs broke out on 2741 Route 9 in Philipstown.
Authorities were called to the scene a little before 8:30 p.m. after they received a 911 call for a large scale fight involving about 30 people. The building, which was once the Post Road Hardware Store, was being leased as a clubhouse to members of the Old Bones Motorcycle Cub.
The club was having a meeting when several people barged in, armed with axe handles and baseball bats, according to investigators.
Five members were assaulted by the intruders and sustained serious injuries. They were transported by ambulances to Saint Francis Hospital in Poughkeepise and Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.
Sheriff’s investigators worked throughout the night interviewing victims and potential witnesses. They also collected physical evidence and reconstructed the crime scene.
Ambulances from the Philipstown, Beacon, Putnam Valley, and Care One ambulance corps transported the injured. Also assisting at the scene were the Cold Spring Police Department, Peekskill Ambulance, Putnam Medics, North Highlands Fire Department and a Dutchess County EMS Coordinator.
No arrests have been made as of yet, however, the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call investigators at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office at (845) 225-8060. All calls will be kept confidential.
