Peekskill Police: Woman Files False Report About Attack

A 44-year-old Beacon woman is accused of filing a false report when she told Peekskill Police her boyfriend assaulted and robbed her, according to officials.

The woman's complaint was received June 25. She claimed the incident took place two days earlier on McKinley Street, Peekskill Police said in a recent statement.

Det. Ralph D'Aliso investigated the allegation. He discovered that the complainant's boyfriend "had not been in the area" when the reported incident occurred, officials said.

Additionally, authorities learned New York State Police arrested the woman several days earlier for a crime she allegedly committed against the boyfriend.

Peekskill Police arrested the woman at about 10 a.m. Monday. She's facing a misdemeanor charge of filing a false written statement.
