Peekskill Police: Littering Leads to Drug Charge

A 51-year-old Peekskill man, who police stopped for tossing a brown paper bag to the ground, is facing a misdemeanor drug charge, officials said.

Officers Matt Basso and Dan Labodin arrested the defendant on South Broad Street at about 6:45 p.m. Nov. 8, according to a recent press release. He's accused of carrying two Suboxone pills. Suboxone is a drug used to treat opiate addiction. 

Authorities charged the defendant with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and littering.
