Peekskill Police Charge Second Man in Stabbing Death

Maurice Walker was charged with second-degree murder today in connection to Friday's stabbing of Alexander Rochester.

Peekskill police have charged another man with murder in Friday’s stabbing of  23-year-old Peekskill man.

Maurice Walker, 32, of Mount Vernon, was charged with second-degree murder today for his role in the stabbing stabbing death of Alexander Rochester, 23, of Peekskill, on Friday morning.

Another Mount Vernon man, Sunil Willliams, 29, was charged with second-degree murder on Friday, several hours Rochester was found.

Rochester, who recently moved to the area from the Bronx, was stabbed at about 10:30 a.m. in the vicinity of the Platinum barbershop, located on 629 South St.

Police said Rochester and Walker, the barbershop’s owner, Maurice Walker, got into a fight that morning and Williams jumped in to help Walker. Williams stabbed Rochester before fleeing the scene.

Police Rochester and Walker’s feud was over a mutual female acquaintance.

Walker initially turned himself in to police Friday and was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony, for having a fake state barber’s license.

Walker was charged with murder after detectives analyzed forensic and video evidence and determined he acted in concert with Williams, who was responsible for stabbing Rochester multiple times.
