Peekskill Police Charge Second Man in Stabbing Death

Maurice Walker was charged with second-degree murder today in connection to Friday's stabbing of Alexander Rochester.

Peekskill police have charged another man with murder in Friday’s stabbing of  23-year-old Peekskill man.

Maurice Walker, 32, of Mount Vernon, was charged with second-degree murder today for his role in the stabbing stabbing death of Alexander Rochester, 23, of Peekskill, on Friday morning.

Another Mount Vernon man, Sunil Willliams, 29, was charged with second-degree murder on Friday, several hours Rochester was found.

Rochester, who recently moved to the area from the Bronx, was stabbed at about 10:30 a.m. in the vicinity of the Platinum barbershop, located on 629 South St.

Police said Rochester and Walker, the barbershop’s owner, Maurice Walker, got into a fight that morning and Williams jumped in to help Walker. Williams stabbed Rochester before fleeing the scene.

Police Rochester and Walker’s feud was over a mutual female acquaintance.

Walker initially turned himself in to police Friday and was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony, for having a fake state barber’s license.

Walker was charged with murder after detectives analyzed forensic and video evidence and determined he acted in concert with Williams, who was responsible for stabbing Rochester multiple times.

For reasons like this I stayed out of downtown Peekskill until very recently. When I hear that there are drugs and prostitution at Senior Housing Complex guess I will be stayin on the outskirts once again.
What a shame and taxes go up 3.8% for what?

Make believe barbershops, variety stores and luncheonettes are the only retailers approved by the Regime.

Looks like barber shops are the problem and not tattoo shops.

29 and 32 yr old supposed men getting into a fatal confrontation in a supposed place of business. Pathetic!!!
And what is more pathetic is people on here using this young man's death as an opportunity to talk about local politics!!! You need to check yourselves and have more respect for life or you come off as callous as these knuckleheads that think violence solves something!!!
Collegenurse November 28, 2012 at 10:49 pm
I am sorry but although i am not involved in the political discussion i think this is the very forum for such discussions.
The very core of a community are the people in it and the people placed in power to oversee and make decisions of said community. I am very sad a life was lost but if there individuals in this community that can so easily take a life it scares me. This happened in the daytime and an innocent child could have been in harms way.

These look like two fine upstanding young men. It's a shame they won't be around to give you a trim for your office holiday party.

This is for Kevin- You are really missing out on a big local audience, namely, Putnam Valley. WeRead More are like the forgotten stepchild even though we are part of the same community as Cortlandt and Peekskill. You guys really need to start giving us some coverage, and if you need a reporter, I will send in my resume. Better yet, you can read all my many comments in the PCP. There's a lot going on here that nobody writes about that would be interesting to many readers.

It seems Patch moves editors every year. Liz was here when I signed up. Then she was shortly movedRead More to Rye and Rasheed took over. He must have been here about a year and then he left when the new format was introduced. Both times patch started cooking and then it got cut down just as new staff got their mojo going. A new editor with a new format seems like starting from scratch again. I know AOL/Patch needs to get some cash flow going quick (from what I've read) but I can't see what they are trying to do exactly by tipping the cart over and over
