Peekskill Police Charge Bronx Woman in Theft

A 48-year-old Bronx woman is facing a misdemeanor charge of petty larceny in connection with a theft that occurred at the C-Town Supermarket, authorities say.

The incident occurred at about 2 p.m. July 26. Peekskill Police Officer Jack Galusha responded to the Park Street store for a report of shoplifting. Store security reportedly observed a woman placing items--valued at less than $100--in her pocketbook. She failed to pay for them prior to leaving the store, according to officials.

Following the woman's arrest, she was held for arraignment.
