Peekskill Police Arrest 4 for Alleged Highland Avenue Assault

Police arrested Dkqwan Johnson, 23, of Peekskill; Araiya Taylor 19, of New York City; Alexis Brens-Medina, 18, New York City; and Brianna Williams, 19; after they were allegedly observed beating a man on Highland Avenue Sunday.

Peekskill police arrested Dkqwan Johnson, 23, of Peekskill, Araiya Taylor 19, of  New York City , Alexis Brens-Medina,  18,  New York City; and Brianna Williams, 19, of New York City; and charged them third-degree criminal mischief, a felony. Williams was also charged with additional counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing, both misdemeanors.

At about 12:50 p.m., a police officer allegedly saw the four suspects kicking and punching a 30-year-old Peekskill man on the 500 block of Highland Avenue. The officer stopped the fight.

The victim then told police that one of his attackers, Williams, lunged at him with a knife. The victim’s vehicle also sustained three broken windows and a slashed tire, according to police.

Police said they recovered the knife and arrested all four suspects and held them for arraignment. They have since been released to reappear for a future city court date.
