A 23-year-old Peekskill man is scheduled to appear in Peekskill city court next week after police said they caught him with crack cocaine and heroin last month.
Scott Echeverria, 23, of Peekskill, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, on Sept. 27 after Peekskill police allegedly found him possession of 56 bags of heroin and three bags of cocaine.
Police were looking for Echeverria because he was suspected of committing a burglary in Yorktown. Police said Echeverria entered the Yorktown Home on Sept. 22 where he was confronted by the homeowner and ran away.
Echeverria was tracked down to a residence on Lafayette Place and found to be in possession of the drugs.
In addition to the drug charges, Echeverria faces a second-degree burglary charge out of Yorktown. He is currently in Westchester County Jail with bail set at $250,000.
