Aug. 4: 79-year-old Peekskill resident Maria V. Santos is due in Yorktown Justice Court Sept. 4 to answer a misdemeanor charge of petty larceny after an incident at Macy's. Santos is alleged to have left the store in the Jefferson Valley Mall without attempting to pay for merchandise from a store display valued at $134.
Aug. 6: Dana M. Reitano of The Bronx was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. Sears security officials reported she had left that store without attempting to pay for a pair of men's shorts valued at $20. Yorktown Police Officer Angel Garcia investigated and made the arrest. Reitano, 31, was released on $500 bail.
Aug. 7: Yorktown Police Officer Tommy Nadoraski responded to a call from Sears security reporting a shoplifting suspect in custody who had left the store without attempting to pay for assorted jewelry valued at $192.95. Charged with petty larceny was Mayra A. Stern, 59, of Briarcliff Manor.
Aug. 9: Yorktown Police Officer Michael Madaus responded to Sears in the JV Mall, after security at 8:24 p.m. reported a suspect left without attempting to pay for jewelry, wallets and a belt. Christina T. Dilacio of Mahopac was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor; the value of the items was totalled at $244.40.
Aug. 11: New York State Police in Somers charged Jeanette F. Reynoso, 35, of Mahopac, with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, after investigation of a theft at the Goodwill store in Somers. Police allege that she stole a purse and three picture frames from the store. She was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the town of Somers Court on Sept. 5.
