Erratic Driving Leads to Felony DWI Charge

New York State Police arrested Erik J. Getz, 34 years old, of Lake Peekskill, NY for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Felony.

Just after 11 p.m. June 14, troopers in Cortlandt stopped the car Getz was operating for failing to maintain his lane of travel.

He exhibited clues during the interview that indicated he was impaired, police said.

Due to a previous DWI conviction in 2006, Getz was charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated.

Getz provided a positive breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .19 percent, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication.  He was issued traffic tickets ordering him to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court June 23.
