Croton Woman Arrested for Altercation with Cortlandt Ambulance Crew
The 32-year-old woman was being transported to the hospital when she allegedly started an altercation with the paramedics, New York State Police report.
The New York State Police at Cortlandt announces the arrest of Angela Goldsmith, age 32, of Croton-on-Hudson, New York. On April 21st, 2012, just after 1:00 a.m., Goldsmith was being transported by ambulance from her residence to in Cortlandt Manor, New York. During the transport, it is alleged Goldsmith became irrate and hostile and engaged the paramedic on board the ambulance in a physical altercation coupled with verbal threats. The paramedic and an EMT on board suffered minor injuries in the scuffle.
Goldsmith was arrested and charged with one count of Attempted Assault in the Second Degree, a Class "E" Felony. The charge rises to a felony when the victim of the assault is a paramedic or emergency medical technician performing their official duties. Goldsmith was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Criminal Court and her case was continued until Monday, April 30th. Additional charges are possible.
The arrest was made by Investigator Sean J. Morgan of the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
