Cortlandt Manor Man Arrested after Two-Car Personal Injury Crash In Peekskill

Peekskill police arrested Shaymar Stewart, 20 of Cortlandt Manor, and charged him with a felony count of driving without a license after he crashed his car on Crompond Road Monday night.

A 20-year-old Cortlandt Manor man is faces a felony charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after he was involved in a personal injury two-car crash on Crompond Road in the city of Peekskill last night.

Peekskill police arrested Shaymar Stewart and charged him with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated and various other traffic violations after he allegedly drove his Ford Explorer into a Dodge Neon in the vicinity of the 1700 block of Crompond Road.

Police said the accident happened at about 10:13 p.m. when Stewart crashed his vehicle, before flipping it over on its passenger side.

The driver of the Neon was transported to a local hospital for leg pain.

Police said a check of Stewart's record revealed that he had a prior DWI conviction. Stewart was arraigned and released to reappear in Peekskill city court.
