Two Peekskill residents—a 56-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man—were arrested on drug possession charges at about 2 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 15) after police stopped them for a routine traffic violation.

Officer Joe Gorman of the Peekskill Police Department made the arrest on the 800 block of Main Street in Peekskill.

"During the stop two small plastic bags containing crack cocaine were recovered from inside the vehicle," authorities said.

Each defendant is facing a misdemeanor charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. They were held in city lockup pending arraignment.
