Cops: Drunk Woman Asks for Ride Home, Shoves Trooper Who Says No

A 26-year-old Mohegan Lake woman is facing a violation for second-degree harassment after she became physical with a state trooper who would not provide her with the ride home she requested, officials say.

The incident occurred at about 6:25 p.m. Sept. 4, when the woman entered the Cortlandt barracks of the New York State Police "in a highly intoxicated state" and asked for a ride home. When she learned that police would call her a taxi, but would not be able to drive her home "due to patrols being needed for emergencies," she became "highly irate," pushing the trooper several times, according to a press release issued Friday.

Police arrested the woman on the violation charge. A family member picked her up. She is due in Cortlandt Justice Court today (Sept. 20).
