Continental Village Firefighters Knock Down Oil Truck Fire in Cortlandt Manor

The Continental Fire Department was called to the scene of an oil truck fire in Cortlandt Manor earlier today.

No injuries were reported in a oil truck fire that ignited inside a garage in Cortlandt Manor today, according to Chief Chris Rimm of the Continental Village Fire Deartment.

The fire started at about noon inside a concrete garage on 5 Sprout Brook Rd. When firefighter arrived, they saw smoke coming from the garage and flames inside it.

Rimm said the fire department was able to extinguish the fire quickly.

Firefighters from Peekskill and Buchanan were called to the scene to provide mutual aid, but the fire was knocked down before they could arrived.

Rimm said the fire originated from the truck’s engine and that there was only minor damage to the garage.
