Garden Site Work Party, and Plot Sign-up Opportunity

Announcement of a Peekskill Community Garden work day, Saturday, March 17th.

Greetings, Gardeners! (and Gardeners-in-Training)

Please join us for a work day on Saturday, March 17th, from 8 am to 1 pm, to help prepare the garden site for planting this spring.

The goal of this day is to put down cardboard and chips to block weeds. If you can, please bring something for moving chips (pitchforks/manure forks are the best, shovels are OK) and wheelbarrows and tarps. Also non-colored (brown or gray) cardboard.

The site is off Route 6, across from the Beach Shopping Center, next to Forrest View development. Parking is limited at the site itself, so please park at the Beach Shopping Center lot, and cross the street at the light.

This will also be an opportunity for us all to meet, talk about garden plans, and for you to sign up for a plot. With everyone’s help, the garden will be ready this spring. (Sing-ups are limited to Peekskill residents only).

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, March 17th!
