On Friday, Peekskill Day Camp enjoyed a cruise up the Hudson on the Commander. While most had taken this cruise many times before, for some it was their first boat trip. For the old salts or newbies, the trip is always a treat. The staff on the ferry are helpful and friendly and for those of you not in know, the Commander is an excellent party boat. Sightseeing, dancing, singing, and snacking were the orders of the day, and a good time was had by all!

A recent study actually shows that the highest homicide rates are in the states with the fewest gun controls. States like Louisiana, South Carolina, Mississippi and Alaska just to name a few.
Sure, there are fewer homicides in Alaska than in New York, but adjusted for population, the per-ca-pita homicide rate is significantly lower in New York.
