Week#4- We had a good start to the Second Session. Our Campers and Counselors formed a great community during the first session, and this week all our new Campers were warmly accepted into the fold. And speaking of warm…with temperatures over 90, sprinklers for gym were a must at the beginning of the week. And speaking of sprinkles… our bowling trip was a perfect way to end the week on a rainy Friday.
Friday’s Trip
This week we will be heading to Sportstime down in Elmsford. Campers should bring a bagged lunch and a drink. Spending money for the snack bar or extra games is permitted. We will have a regular 3:00 dismissal on Friday.
End of Camp Parade
Friday, August 3rd, starting at 10:45, we will begin our 25th Annual Parade at the Peekskill High School parking lot. We will be marching down Division St., passing the gazebo, making a right onto Main St, turning right on Broad St and ending the
parade on Broad and Park . The Campers and Counselors have been working hard on banners and costumes to celebrate the theme, “Day Camp Parties in the U.S.A.”.
We promise that you will be impressed with our Day Campers’ and Counselors’
artistic talent (thanks to our Arts & Crafts Special Specialist, Lillian
Cruz!). Please come out and support us.
….And then we party
After the parade, Campers will be bused down to the Riverfront for our End of CampParty. Pizza, drinks, and snacks will be provided. Campers do not need to bring lunch. Entertainment will include a DJ, Air Castle, Rides, and Games. (This is an exclusive party – just for
Campers and Counselors.)
At The Paramount
Last Thursday we all enjoyed a double feature;
Brian Robinson brought us some amazing raptors and reptiles and then it was a
cartoon of everyone’s favorite- SpongeBob SquarePants. This week we’ll be
seeing the movie, “Kung Fu Panda 2”.
Best of the Best
About this time, we start getting real sentimental about how great our whole staff is and how much we are going to miss them, but that will be saved for next week. Fornow we’ll give you those chosen for doing a great job for Week #4: Rebecca Au(Gr.1), Michelle Molina (Gr.2), Jefferson Apuango (Gr.3), Jenee’ Jackson
(Gr.4), Anthony Lewis (Gr.5), Christian Vivar(Gr.6), Ariel Ortiz(Gr.7), Darwin
Molina(Gr.8), Phillip Dixon (Gr.9), and Chris Moseley (Gr.10).
Don’t Lose Your Marbles
Be Safe. Be Responsible. Be Respectful. We think these rules are not only important for Camp, but also for life. The Winning Groups for this week are: Group 2 (Head Counselor Eileen Lepore),
Group 5 (Head Counselor RobertPagan), and Group 10 (Head Counselor Kara Lyon). Congratulations!
We’re on the Patch
If you haven’t checked out our blog in the
Peekskill Patch yet, now is the time. Go to Peekskill.Patch.Comand search for Peekskill Day Camp in the Local Voices section. The Patch is a
perfect place to see lots of pictures from the 2012 camp season.
