Hillcrest Teachers Bring Colonial Job Fair to Woodside Students

Hillcrest Elementary School teachers recently thought of a fun way to bring one of the Common Core domains to life. As students were learning about colonial life and the jobs people once held, teachers decided to host a "Colonial Job Fair" to further discuss the topic with the children.

Teachers dressed up in old time clothing, prepared posters and brought in tools and props to highlight trades such as tanners, cobblers, blacksmiths, general store owners, brick makers and more.

After the day was a success at Hillcrest, teachers visited Woodside Elementary School to share the fair with kindergarten students as well, since they too are learning about colonial times.
