New Era Creative Space (NECS) located at 1016 Brown Street, Peekskill is a new community-based organization with the mission of enriching children and adults through creative initiatives; including educational enrichment programs, theatre, performance, dance, singing, painting, reading, therapy and more. Since we opened our doors in Sept of 2013 we have hosted hundreds of people during many family based activities, classes, parties and more from all over Westchester as far as Rye Brook.  We would like to encourage local families to take a part of our ever growing creative activities.

Architecture For Kids: Attention budding designers, engineers and architects! Love to build? Combining monumental design and astonishing feats of engineering, bridges are some of the world’s most amazing structures. In this 8-week studio, young people will learn about different types of bridges — from tiny footbridges to the Hudson-spanning Tappan Zee — and find out how they work. Working individually and in teams, kids will brainstorm, test, design and construct their own bridges, using creativity to make them beautiful and science to make sure they are structurally sound. Junior Aerospace Engineering – Taking to the Skies, Age 4-6 years. The Junior Aerospace Starts Sunday at 1:00 PM. Engineering classes introduce our youngest engineers to fundamental concepts of aircraft and spacecraft design. Through open and focused exploration, students explore and construct airplanes, rockets, hot air balloons, and more. 3 MORE SPOTS!

Aerospace engineering: Up, Up, and Away for children 7 -12 years. Starts Sunday at 2:30 PM - 6 weeks. ONLY 3 MORE SPACES LEFT! Register today atwww.necspace.com or call 914-325-1053. During the Aerospace Engineering classes, students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine a variety of flying machines. They construct a shock absorbing system designed to protect two marshmallow astronauts in a lunar vehicle, create their own air-powered rockets, and assemble a hot air balloon model that actually takes flight! 

3D Interactive Programming for 6-8 graders. This course is an introduction to computer programming, using the Alice 3 programming environment and the Java programming language. Students will learn the fundamentals of object oriented programming. The focus is on developing high quality, working software that solves real problems. The course is designed for students with no previous programming experience.  Starts Monday Jan 20 at 5:00 pm
