In order that all the voters have an opportunity to compare the slates side by side, the Democratic candidates invite the Republican candidates to participate in a moderated public debate. It is in the voters’ best interest to hear the views of all the candidates on the issues that are important to Peekskill.
To ensure a fair debate,
the Westchester League of Women Voters is being asked to provide a
moderator. The League requires a local sponsor to make arrangements. Therefore the Peekskill Democratic City
Committee is seeking a local nonpartisan civic organization to step up and
sponsor this important event.
"The voters of Peekskill deserve an honest and fair discussion of the issues facing our City," said Marina Ciotti, Chairwoman of the Peekskill Democrats. "It is my hope and expectation that all candidates will conduct themselves in a professional manner during this campaign season." Ciotti added, “A public debate is the perfect forum in which to present opposing views. I look forward to working with Chairman Vesce to ensure the voters are provided this vital resource."

Dear Chairman Vesce:
It is in the best interest of our community that all candidates participate in a formal, moderated, public debate.
I am asking that you join me in a joint request to the Westchester League of Women Voters asking them to manage and moderate the debate. The Paramount is available as a venue and both of our Committees can advertise and promote the debate.
Please advise at your earliest convenience if you are interested in pursuing a moderated public debate.
