Peekskill city employee salaries

Peekskill is the only municipality in the Hudson Valley whose public employees’ salaries are in the top five in the state. Peekskill employs 148 people with an average salary of $60,888. Only Yonkers ($68,786) and New Rochelle ($64,293) pay their employees more of an average salary than Peekskill across the state.

Of the 148 employees in Peekskill, 82 are either police or firefighters who get paid an average of $115,055, fourth most in the state behind Glen Cove ($151,132), Long Beach ($127,660) and Yonkers ($116,914). Former Peekskill Police Chief Eugene Tumolo, who retired last year, is still listed as the top paid employee by the Empire Center with a salary of $185,676. Det. Anthony Malfitano of the Peekskill Police Department has his 2013 salary listed at $163,548, second most behind Tumolo while the third highest paid employee in the city is City Manager Brian Havranek who makes $161,197 in 2013.
