Meet Alex — A Loving Retriever/Chow Mix

Alex is looking for a home.

From the :

This gorgeous flat coated retriever/chow mix has a very sad story.

Alex, who is around 6-years-old, had an owner who very much loved him.

Unfortunately, his owner became very ill and had to be hospitalized.

Hopeful the owner would be released from the hospital within a few months, we held onto Alex so he could be reunited with his owner, but this is not how the story ended.

His owner can no longer care for him, so we are working hard to find Alex a home now.

Alex loves people. He enjoys going on long walks but also loves to just lay down and chill out with his people.

He is OK with some other animals but would do best in home with older children.

See  for more information about the SPCA of Westchester or call 914-941-2896 ext. 22.

How I wish we could take Alex. We just lost our wonderful Molly who came from the Briarcliff Shelter 18 years ago!! We still have the twin cats that we got there 15 years ago. We are probably too old to start in with another dog but pray that someone younger will take her home and love her as much as we loved our Molly.
