It's a Small World
This weekend, in Charlotte, NC, I walked in the 39.3 mile Avon Walk against Breast Cancer. I met a woman who once lived in Peekskill on Smith Street. In 1997 she had to relocate. She told me about her kids attending elementary school and how much she enjoyed taking them to the riverfront. Then she wanted me to tell her what Peekskill is like now.
I told her I moved here in 2002. My life changed and in 2007 I had to make a big choice, stay in Peekskill or move out. I decided to stay and bought a condo. And, today I am so happy to be in Peekskill. It's a great place to be, downtown and the riverfront are so popular.
I love walking from my condo to the riverfront because it's clean, other people are around, places to sit and read. The view is priceless. For me the public art is a draw - I am in love with the strength and determination of "the diver". On my way back up the hill I can snack at bakeries and coffeehouses. Peekskill is so special that my partner sold his house in Katonah and bought a condo here.

There are so many restaurants offering different cuisines. They’re packed with people from Peekskill and well beyond.
What a pleasure it was to talk to someone who lived here years ago and for me to be able to praise Peekskill. I am here 12 years and loving it.
