Remember that building where you can borrow books for free and take part in all kinds of workshops and programs? Yep, the good old library. In the age of instantly downloadable e-books and e-courses, so many of us are visiting that building a lot less than we used to. (Raise your hand if you haven’t used your library card in over a year!)
So this week, we’d like to bring your attention to some informative, entertaining (and did we mention, free?) adult programs at the John C. Hart Memorial Library.
Some upcoming workshops:
- Release Stress with Energy Healing : You will learn how to get in touch with your own healing abilities and relieve stress. (Thursday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m.)
- Mindful Eating: Learn how to become more aware of your hunger cues and how to eat well. (Thursday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m.)
- Earring Making: Make a set of earrings for yourself and another set for someone at a battered women’s shelter. (Thursday, April 14 at 7 p.m.)
- Altered Book and Scrap Book Techniques: Get creative with scrapbooking. (Wednesday, May 4 at 7 p.m.)
Keep in mind that even though these programs are free, registration is required at the reference desk or by calling 914-245-5262 ext. 227.
An evening at your local library has always been a budget-friendly option when you want to get out of the house and learn something new. And while you’re there, break out that library card and bring home a good book.
See you at the library!
