Claxton, McKenzie and Ethics.

What do they have in common? Apparently not much. I think it is interesting that a city council that is so concerned with the ethics of a mayor and I mean, concerned enough to make sure an ethics board gets stacked with political friends and hastily put together to investigate on their own with no charges filed a vague complaint of bullying, whatever that may mean to a grown up. I find it equally interesting that a threat made by council woman McKenzie at a city council meeting goes unnoticed by this so called ethics board. It is clear to me that there are two sets of rules at work at the common council. For instance if you are part of the leftover Foster administration and you strenuously press a point or even make a not so veiled threat of violence you are merely being forceful and quite righteous for being so. However if you are Mr. Catalina and you asked too many questions that demand uncomfortable answers you are a bully. If you are Mary Foster you are the mayor, unquestioned, unchallenged, and backed to the hilt by the city council. If you are Mr. Catalina your position as mayor is purely ceremonial just a one vote ribbon cutter as was stated in Ms Claxton’s self serving open letter to the public even before Mr. Catalina took the oath of office. The attached news 12 report shows that there is no doubt that McKenzie threatened a citizen. This raises a question and that is: Is the city council going to stand by the oath that they took and demand not just an ethics investigation but a possible criminal investigation? Only time will tell, and speaking of time, I think it is time for Claxton, Talbot and Rigger to show us something that resembles fair play because this issue is not going to go away any time soon.
