Pampering for a Cause

As my spa, Le Petite Spa, celebrates its second year in business, I wanted to do something different from the usual anniversary celebrations of discounts, balloons and major hoopla. I wanted to do something that would actually make a difference in people's lives.

Since the anniversary of my business is in October, coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the idea of what to do became obvious.  So, during the month of October, I'll be donating 10% of every sale to the Support Connection of Yorktown, a not-for-profit organization that offers free personalized support programs for people affected by breast and ovarian cancer.

My clients will also get a special treat this month, a free spicy pumpkin organic hand treatment with every service. The treatment consists of an organic sugar scrub, followed by an application of smooth, hydrating hand lotion – both offering the delectable scents of warm pumpkin pie.

For the past 15 years, the Support Connection has been providing emotional, social and educational support services to women, their families and friends who have been affected by breast and ovarian cancer.  This organization is an incredible asset to the local community, and I want to help them in any way that I can.
