Peekskill Arts Alliance Hat Factory Show - 100 Reasons I Love Peekskill - Post 95

Peekskill Arts Alliance Show at the Hat Factory. I'm extremely embarrassed to admit that before Saturday, in my 3 1/2 years living here, I had never visited the Hat Factory. It was always on my To Do list. I get the mailings from the Peekskill Clay Studios, which are an integral part of the Peekskill arts community. And there are lots of other interesting things going on there as well. I'd been meaning to get over there for ages.

On Saturday I finally made it! The occasion that overcame my inertia was the Peekskill Arts Alliance Art Show and Sale, which opened with a reception last Saturday. It will be showing every weekend through December 22nd, with performances each Sunday at 3pm.

It was delightful to walk in from the cold into a warm space full of beautiful and interesting works of art, all created by Peekskill artists, many of whom I know and most of whom were there! (I hesitate to start naming names for fear of going on way too long or leaving someone out. Find them on the PAA website.) Better yet, go to the show!!! I'm constantly amazed by the deep well of talent, creativity and individuality in our community. I love that our artists cooperate with and support and inspire each other.

There were a couple of pieces I fell in love with. I'm trying to decide if I can rationalize another art purchase right now. With all the great art at this show, I think I'd better hurry!
