Tackles for Cure To Raise Money to Benefit Breast cancer Research at Lakeland-Panas Football Game Sept. 27

Once again this year, Lakeland High School is joining forces with the Shrub Oak Athletic Club (SOAC) to raise money to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The “Tackles for a Cure” game will be held on Friday, September 27 as part of the annual Lakeland vs. Walter Panas football game to be held at Lakeland HS.

Last year, the two groups joined forces with SOAC and raised $6,000 for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The Lakeland Football and Cheer organization’s primary source of fundraising is the sale of their pink t‑shirts.  They will also be accepting donations at the game. Pink hair extensions from Salon Amore in Mahopac will also be available for $10. With the proceeds also going to the charity.

“We would like the Lakeland Central School District community to join us in the fight for the cure,” said Beth O'Neill who helps run the effort along with another parent, Lisa Souza, on behalf of the Lakeland Football booster club and Lakeland Cheer booster club.  The effort has received a major assist since its inception from Lakeland HS Principal Lorrie Yurish and Lakeland’s Head Football Coach Rob Cappelli, added O’Neill.
