Former Congresswoman Sue Kelley Endorses Joe Carvin for Congress

Former Congresswoman Sue Kelly endorses Joe Carvin, Urges GOP Voters to Support Him on June 26

Westchester--June 21 ...Former Congresswoman Sue Kelly (R-NY-19) today called on Rockland and Westchester County Republicans to go to their polling stations this Tuesday, June 26th to vote for businessman and Rye Town Supervisor Joe Carvin for congress in the newly drawn 17th Congressional District.  "Westchester and Rockland Republicans have an opportunity and an obligation to choose, hands-down, one of the most promising candidates for Congress to come out of this region for some time," Congresswoman Kelly said. "Joe Carvin has extraordinary national and international business experience and his fiscal management as Rye Town Supervisor has been stellar, reducing taxes each year he has been in office and reining in spending by 25%.  Tuesday's primary falls at an unusual time of the year, so it is incumbent upon each of us as Republicans to mark our calendars for this Tuesday, June 26."   Mr. Carvin, 57, a married father of three, is running in a Republican Primary for the House seat now held by Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-WFP). Mr. Carvin is unanimously endorsed for the office by the Westchester and Rockland Republican and Conservative party committees.

"It is an enormous honor to be endorsed by our great former congresswoman Sue Kelly," Mr. Carvin said. "Her help in educating Republican voters about Tuesday's primary is greatly appreciated. I believe I can make a significant difference in Congress to reduce our national debt and unleash the private sector economy once again in America, but I need the support of Rockland and Westchester Republicans on Tuesday to get there.  Having Congresswoman Kelly's support is a tremendous help toward that effort."  Mr. Carvin has been endorsed in recent days by Congressman Bob Turner (R-NY 9), Congresswoman Nan Hayworth (R-NY-19), and Assemblyman Robert Castelli (R-Golden's Bridge), and many others.   Joe Carvin was born and raised in Port Chester, NY. He graduated Cum Laude from Tulane University with a B.A. in International Relations and became a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar to Senegal where he was awarded an honorary degree from the United Nations Institute for Economic Planning and Development. He holds an M.B.A from New York University and an M.P.A. from Harvard University. He speaks fluent Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Wolof (a West African language). After working a number of years with Deutsche Bank he helped set up Altima Partners where he helps finance some of the largest farms in the world. Mr. Carvin lives in Rye with his wife, a non-practicing attorney, and two daughters, Keira and Rhianna who attend local public schools. His son, Michael, lives and works in New York City. Mr. Carvin refuses to accept a salary as Rye Town Supervisor.   ###

YES HE DID
Joe Carvin maybe the best the republican party has to offer, but he did fail to pay over $90,000 in state income taxes three of the last six years–that's a fact. And he did vote to elect President Obama, who has a current approval rating of 12% among republicans: http://www.gallup.com/poll/155042/Obama-Averages-Job-Approval-May.aspx. You can view Mr. Carvin's tax warrants and Obama Vote Mea Culpa video at: http://www.lausdeo10580.com/

Excuse me while I choke.... by the label an "Unconventional Republican"!! But what the heck does that mean??? It means this man has no convictions and his moral compass is weak at best with no moral foundation. HE IS A RINO and no doubt Doug Colety gave this election away. Believe me those who vote along party lines will NOT be happy knowing he voted for Dear Leader Chairman MaoBama... I am disgusted and almost gave him my vote until I did some research on my own and reading how he voted for MaoBama put the nail in the coffin for me... I cannot in good conscience give this man my vote for the primary... Not when he voted for a man who said in 2008 that "we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America." That means Carvin believed in findamentally transforming America.

FROM PORT CHESTER WESTMORE NEWS 1/28/11:
"Carvin said he supports Didden [for Mayor] and does not think he is a racist. He said his wife, who is black, has viewed Didden’s 2007 flyer, which includes the racial appeal “the Hispanics are running the show already,” and both believe the flyer was race baiting, but not racist." “To castigate somebody as racist without being willing to engage in any conversation or dialogue is totally un- American,” he stated. http://pc.westmorenews.com/atf.php?sid=15447&current_edition=2011-01-28 Yet, Mr. Carvin has a section of his campaign website dedicated to castigating his opponent Jim Russell without ever engaging in debate or dialogue with him about his controversial writings. http://carvin2012.com/a-neo-nazi-field-trip-to-the-met/ Mr. Carvin promotes Village Voice articles like, "A Neo-Nazi Field Trip to the Met" written by Maria Luisa Tucker, a free-lance writer who worked for a very far left news agency, Alternet at the time. From the Alternet's website: - AlterNet’s aim is to inspire action and advocacy on the environment, human rights and civil liberties, social justice, media, health care issues, and more. - AlterNet has developed a unique model of journalism to confront the failures of corporate media, as well as the vitriol and disinformation of right wing media, especially “hate talk” media. http://www.alternet.org/

By the way, in our new system we have an update that includes a community moderation tool—it'sRead More not only Patch editors who can flag comments. What is it? Readers can flag any content they find objectionable on any Patch site at any time. We’ve put the flagging link in more places to make it easier to find and backed it with more sophisticated tools. Our goal is to recognize and reward readers who make our community great. How does it work? You’ll see these words — Flag as Inappropriate — on the top and bottom of Board posts, articles, blogs and notes, and next to every single comment anywhere on the site. To flag something, you simply click those words. What happens when you flag? It alerts us that something might be up with the content. When should you flag? We ask that you use your common sense and a general spirit of openness. You should never flag things that you simply disagree with and certainly not to clarify minor points. We encourage you to comment, post (or even start your own blog) to be heard on those things. You can review the Patch Terms of Use Ashley referred to above.

I'm wondering if a comment made by Veton Sejdiu was deleted because it implies a threat againstRead More people. In his comment, he calls people "morons" and "fools" (nothing new here), but in a threatening way, he dares people to try to take guns away.

Unleashed dogs is getting to be a big problem in Peekskill. I see them routinely now. People areRead More letting their pit bulls out, their poodles, their chihuahuas - all kinds of dogs. Two days a go I watched a lady jogging on the track with her loose dog. The dog wasn't even supposed to be on the track no less loose. Some kid or elderly lady is going to get bit. Loose dogs also end up in more fights with other dogs.

Sue a sad fact that these days of “political correctness” individuals who exhibit rudeRead More and ignorant behavior are empowered by the rest of us. I know of a similar situation where the individuals will yell four letter words in the public areas with young children there, call others the foulest things, and in this case, they are black and gay so the race/gay card is used constantly. Until people make it known they are not going to tolerate their behavior it will not stop. Have you notified the property owner, complex board, and police, or maybe the board of health?

It seems Patch moves editors every year. Liz was here when I signed up. Then she was shortly movedRead More to Rye and Rasheed took over. He must have been here about a year and then he left when the new format was introduced. Both times patch started cooking and then it got cut down just as new staff got their mojo going. A new editor with a new format seems like starting from scratch again. I know AOL/Patch needs to get some cash flow going quick (from what I've read) but I can't see what they are trying to do exactly by tipping the cart over and over

Working Families Party endorsed candidate Mary Foster
Robin Seggs June 14, 2013 at 10:44 am
Working Families Party almost always cross endorses with Democrats. Looks like the choice isRead More getting clearer: One team is Democrat, WFP and Independent and the Catalina Team is Republican, Right-to-life, Conservative. Anyway, I believe Catalina is campaigning as anti-gay rights, so I know how I will be voting.
jo June 14, 2013 at 02:28 pm
