The last day of Spirit Week is truly an experience. The spirit, the energy, the hormones-whatever it is that fuels the students' behavior on that day, should be bottled, and sold on the shelf right next to the 5-hour energy supplements.
At Peekskill High School last Friday, School Spirit was evident right  from the time you entered the hallways which had been decorated by the students the night before. It was amazing to see how creative the students could be with some paper and a very limited budget. Then the bell rang and the students arrived, all dressed in their red and blue clothing. They colored each others faces and hair, and posed for dozens of pictures. There were class skits in the auditorium and full out singing and dancing productions in the gym. Yes, at the end, there were some winners and losers, but by then nobody cared that much- it had been a great show and a great day. Videos posted in Mercury .
