Hudson Valley Hospital Needs Nominations for "Acts of Kindness Award"

Cortlandt Manor, NY - (December 10, 2013) – Hudson Valley Hospital Center has built a reputation as a place where kindness and courtesy are valued above all else, so it’s not surprising that the hospital is launching a campaign to encourage acts of kindness as a way to celebrate its 125th anniversary.

The Hospital is asking the community to nominate two people who deserve recognition for their consistent acts of kindness. The nominees chosen would be honored at a January 23 kick-off of the hospital’s year-long, 125th anniversary celebration. Visit hvhc.org to find out how to nominate someone for this honor.

“Our hospital recently won the “Guardian of Excellence” Award for patient satisfaction and that has a lot to do with the kindness and courtesy our staff shows patients and visitors every day,’’ said John Federspiel, President of Hudson Valley Hospital Center. “ It seemed fitting that we recognize our 125th anniversary by rewarding kindness and encouraging others to perform acts of kindness.”

Federspiel said that those nominees who are selected would receive an award from the   hospital and serve as role models for the on-going, year-long campaign to get community members to perform 125 Acts of Kindness in 2014.

The hospital is performing its own Act of Kindness on Dec. 18 when it wraps hundreds of gifts for its Santa’s Helpers gift drive for children in need. Each year the hospital spends $125 on a minimum of 110 children.
