Hudson Valley Hospital Center Celebrates National Nurses Week

Cortlandt Manor, NY - (May 6, 2014) – Hudson Valley Hospital Center celebrated National Nurses Week this week with a series of events to raise awareness about the critical role that nurses play in patient care.

The hospital’s administrative team, including Hospital President John Federspiel and Vice President of Patient Services Kathy Webster, honored nurses by delivering lunch and dinner to nursing staff throughout the hospital. Nursing teams designed posters highlighting aspects of their work, which were on display in the Hospital lobby and the Emergency Department gave out Nightingale Awards in honor of Florence Nightingale.

National Nurses Week begins on May 6th and ends on May 12th, in honor of Florence Nightingale's birthday. Healthcare institutions across the country celebrate the week with events and educational programs.
