Congers’ Classes Moving To St. Augustine’s Over Columbus Day Weekend

The move will reunite the almost 300 students in kindergarten through fifth grade in one building on Tuesday, Oct. 15th. Congers students were reassigned to the New City, Lakewood and Laurel Plains elementary schools after their school on Lake Road West was declared unsafe in late August. Parents turned out in number at school board meetings and spoke about how separating the children impacted their education, sense of community and behavior.

Pleasantville Crossword Competition Raises Funds for Local Schools

Hosted by village resident and New York Times Crossword Puzzle Editor Will Shortz at his Westchester Table Tennis Center on Tompkins Avenue, the event raised funds for the Pleasantville Fund for Learning.

Local Fencer Wins Silver Medal at National Competition

In Milwaukee, Wisconsin at 8:43pm local time Caroline Kleiner finished a competition that started at 1:30pm that afternoon, drenched in sweat and a Silver Medal. 900 miles away from home and her family; her Mother and Sister sat anxiously at Nyack Fencing Academy continually clicking the refresh button on the computer trying to find out the latest score.
