Hen Hud Lions Club Pancake Breakfast to Benefit BCC 9/11 Memorial

As part of the nationwide National Day of Service, the
Hendrick Hudson Lions Club is challenging neighbors to make a
commitment to service year round by joining their local Lions Club

.

“Our sole mission is to make our community a better place for
everyone,” Lions Club President Michelle Carter said.

“We are always
looking for new members and new projects to take on.

As part of this day of service, the Lions are sponsoring a Pancake
Breakfast at Hendrick Hudson High School on Sunday, September 11 from
 9 a.m.-noon.

The breakfast is only $5, and all proceeds will support the
Buchanan, Cortlandt, Croton-on-Hudson 9/11 Memorial, which will be
constructed at Croton Landing.

While the Lions are most well-known locally for sponsoring the local
Pumpkin Fest and East Egg Hunt, they also manage numerous other
projects to benefit the community. Lions operate a medical equipment
loan program, lending items like hospital beds and wheelchairs to
those in need at no charge.

They have helped make homes handicapped
accessible, provided access to medical treatment, and helped neighbors
burned out of their homes with food, clothing and other aid. Each
year, members of the Hendrick Hudson Lions Club and their families
screen nearly 200 local preschool children for eye disease at
absolutely no charge.

The breakfast is a great way to spend time with neighbors on this
significant day, as well as a place to meet local Lions and learn more
about the projects they undertake. The Hen Hud Lions are a diverse
group of neighbors, ranging from school teachers, professionals and
retirees to single moms, holistic practitioners and little league
coaches. They also sponsor the Hen Hud Leos, a dedicated group of
Middle and High School students who also strive to make the community
a better place for everyone.

They were recently recognized by Maria
Farerri Childrens Hospital for their monumental fundraising efforts
over the last few years.
