Maundy Thursday Holy Eucharist and Prayer Watch
This service of Holy Eucharist includes the ancient tradition begun at the Last Supper when Christ washed his disciples' feet; in this way, we share in the humility and servanthood of Christ. The service concludes with the Stripping of the Altar and we are met with the same stark solitude that Christ faced on his journey to the Cross.
The Prayer Watch begins immediately after the Maundy Thursday service, and continues until noon on Good Friday. Jesus asked his disciples, "Could you not watch one hour with me?" Throughout the night we answer this question with an hour in prayer, and in the company of Christ.
