Marinsky Ballet: Swan Lake

For the first time ever the world's most loved ballet Swan Lake is being presented Live from the city where it was created - and by the company which produces many of the greatest dance stars. (Pavlova, Nureyev, Barishnikov - many more).  This special event  - celebrating 275 years since Russian ballet began - will be available for cinema audiences across the globe to enjoy live in both 3D and 2D.

The "genius" of Tchaikovsky's incredible score and the "genius" of the choreography of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov bring you the version of Swan Lake the world loves.

Lyrical, mysterious and dramatic, the Mariinsky create an imaginary world where Prince Siegfried and the swan-princess Odette affirm their love for each other, conquering the forces of evil.

Tchaikovsky's ravishing music combines with peerless choreography showing the Mariinsky's famed corps de ballet in all its beauty. Starring Ekaterina Kondaurova in the classic role of Odette/Odile. Now captured in the same 3D technology as Avatar, Hugo and the Oscar winning Life of Pi.

Broadcast live in stunning high definition in 3D and 2D  from the historic Mariinsky Theatre St Petersburg, the Imperial Capital of Russia  on a unique occasion, the production will include Hollywood, Russian and other international guest stars -  and exclusive, glamorous presentations exclusively for the cinema audience.  (World Premiere St Petersburg 1895)
