Italian Feast of Mount Carmel

91st Annual Feast of Our Lady of Mount

Carmel - July 17 – 21, 2013.  238 Eighth Street, Verplanck, NY


The Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel invites you to the 91st Annual Italian Feast Wednesday through Sunday,  July 17th through the 21st. starting nightly at 6 pm.  Along with rides, food and games, there is live entertainment every night at 238 Eighth Street at Highland Avenue (Mount Carmel Way) in Verplanck.  There is no admission fee and parking is free.

Saturday at 7pm, attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Tarantella Dance.  More than 300 participants are needed.  Registration starts at 6pm. Tambourines and festive attire is encouraged!

Sunday at 3pm there is an Italian Mass at St. Patrick’s Church on 11th Street in Verplanck.  The traditional procession through the streets with the statue of the Madonna follows mass. All are welcome to join in.Sunday at 11pm , the WHUD Mount Carmel fireworks extravaganza presented by Garden State Fireworks will cap the weekend’s festivities.

Discount ride bracelets are available every night with coupons found at area merchants. Nightly food choices include pizza, pasta, sausage and pepper, zeppole, cannoli, gyros and seafood. Every night there is dancing in the street! Wednesday and Thursday a DJ will be spinning popular tunes. Friday evening it’s the Over The Top band. Saturday, Dirty Stay Out performs.  Sunday evening it’s the SugaRush Band. Bring lawn chairs to sit and enjoy the music! There are picnic tables on the Highland Avenue Food Court. Tickets may be purchased for nightly drawings. Prizes include  iPads, an X-Box 360 and PlayStation 4.
