Free Medicare counseling at the Field Library SBIC – Thursdays
Whether you're about to enroll in Medicare or are a current Medicare recipient, you can get help with your benefits and coverage questions at the Senior Benefits Information Center at the Field Library the first and second Thursday of each month year-round (except holidays). No appointment necessary. (The SBIC will be at the Ossining Public Library the remaining Thursdays in the month, 1:30-3:30.)
Meet with trained counselors to get more information about:
- Medicare Part A (in-patient) and Part B (out-patient) coverage,
- Part D prescription drug coverage,
- Medicare Advantage Plans, with or without drug coverage, and
- Medicare Savings Plans, Extra Help and EPIC for seniors with more limited incomes.
If you can't visit the library in person, you can leave a message on the SBIC helpline at 914-231-3260 with your name, number, and whether your interest is in Medicare services or other benefits, and a counselor will return your call within two business days. Alternatively, you can ask your question online at this link: http://www.westchesterlibraries.org/senior-benefits-information-centers/ask-a-counselor/.
