Looking for a fun autumn activity that involves a waterfront setting, a beautifully-crafted artisan home, and a walkable community with great shops, restaurants, and a marina?

Make plans to take an open house tour of Westchester Magazine’s American Dream Home 2012, a luxurious, well-appointed townhome that’s both elegant and modern, and boasts every imaginable energy-efficient feature that exists in the building industry today.

Open house tours of American Dream Home and its beautifully designed interiors will begin October 19, and will take place every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through November 11. Here, not only can you view the beautiful interiors but you can also shop them. The American Dream Home is also an exclusive pop up shop where you purchase items, many of which are not otherwise available in retail locations and have been hand selected by interior Designer, Susan Anthony. Sign up online at www.westchestermagazine.com/dreamhome2012 for tickets. Donations to benefit Historic Hudson Valley will be accepted at the open house tours.

The American Dream Home is infusing new life into Hudson Harbor’s exquisite waterfront community on the banks of the majestic Hudson River. Right on trend, it is one of 27 townhomes known as “The Carriage Houses,” an exclusive, cutting-edge green community of LEED-registered, ENERGY STAR-efficient homes. Stylish and handcrafted, the two-level townhome is easy to maintain and boasts a floor plan with large open spaces, three bedrooms, three baths, great room patio and balcony, and two-car garage.

Created with a strong focus on sustainability and the highest quality American-made products and locally-sourced materials, American Dream Home 2012 is an authentic treasure that combines modern convenience, enjoyable living, and minimal environmental impact. The unique townhome design features signature architecture inspired by traditional Hudson River Valley estates.

Hudson Harbor luxury maintenance-free community offers resort style amenities just steps away from the Tarrytown train station, where 25 daily express trains arrive at Grand Central Station in 36 minutes. Plus, the $10 million mile-long Riverwalk and waterfront park are on site, offering an eco-friendly way to enjoy this shoreline neighborhood.

Award-winning Interior Designer Susan Anthony of Anthony-Wright Interiors has been working her magic inside the Dream Home. “We’ve packed a lot of cool ideas into this compact carriage house,” said Anthony. “When we designed the interiors, we wanted to show that you can take some traditional pieces that you love—we used some American antiques and artifacts—perhaps use them differently, and blend them with new choices to form a different design story and way of living.”

Sponsors for American Dream Home 2012 whose products will be incorporated throughout the house include Benjamin Moore, Majestic Kitchens & Baths, Marvin Windows & Doors, Waterworks, California Closets, Ethan Allen, and Consolidated Plumbing.
