Peekskill author and historian Margaret Steele will conduct an unusual magic program discussing her new book--Adelaide Herrmann, Queen of Magic...--on the life and legacy of world-famous magician Madame Herrmann who was associated with the Great Houdini.
Ms. Steele has lectured in the U.S. and abroad on Herrmann's place in history as a pioneering woman in the art of magic. Using on-screen photos illustrating Herrmann's long career, her presentation will be educational and "magical", especially her demonstration of some of Herrmann's magic tricks and illusions!
Sponsored by The Van Cortlandtville Historical Society and open free to the public. The Little Red Schoolhouse is located at the northern end of Locust Avenue next to Old Saint Peter's Church and cemetery, on the hill just south of Oregon Road in the Town of Cortlandt.
