More than 40 students wearing over $50,000 worth of the latest fashions will take to the catwalk on Friday, March 15 7:00 p.m. with all proceeds from ticket and food sales and raffles benefiting academic scholarships for graduating seniors.
This year’s theme, “Our Year of Style” will boast a variety of different segments including, “Getting Leggy with It”, Pop, Color, Life” and “Rock Star”. One of the show’s highlights, “Formalwear” will close out the show with students in finery on loan from Cache and Marty’s Formalwear.
The Show has become a true community event with more than 100 student and community volunteers participating and several local retailers such as It’s SWAK, TJ Maxx and Marshall’s generously letting students borrow items to wear in the show. “We could never have this type of quality production without all the help we receive from the community,” said Sandra Ferguson, Co-Chair. “Thanks to their participation, we have enough clothes and accessories to allow all seniors who want to take part the ability to do so.” In all, the co-chairs need about 3,000 pieces to clothe all of the models. In addition, Ms. Ferguson delved into her own personal collection to add some truly unique pieces. Students will also get a true taste of the backstage experience thanks to the professional makeup applications and hairstyles pre-show. “The opportunity to get pampered like this is the icing on the cake for these kids,” commented Jane Solnick, Fashion Show Co-Chair. “The staff of Back Stage Salon in Croton and the Richard Scott Salon and Day Spa in Mt. Kisco have been instrumental in bringing the show up to a whole other level.”
