Educational Forum: Reconstructive Surgery After Breast Cancer

Announcing a public educational forum presented jointly by Support Connection, Inc. and Hudson Valley Hospital Center. An overview of breast reconstruction for women who have had breast cancer. Topics to include: different surgical options; the latest techniques; nipples and tattoos; follow-up surgeries to correct problem areas; revisional reconstruction; the importance and challenges of realistic expectations. 


Speaker: Dr. C. Andrew Salzberg, a New York Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Dr Salzberg is an Associate professor and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Westchester Medical Center and St. John’s Riverside Hospital at Dobbs Ferry Pavilion. He also operates at the Institute for Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery within the Hudson Valley Hospital Center and Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Salzberg specializes in cosmetic and breast surgery, including breast reconstruction. He is the pioneer of Direct to Implant and AlloDerm Breast Reconstruction, a technique that allows him to put in a permanent breast implant with no need to expand or have a second surgery as was necessary in the Traditional Expander Method.
